The Soho London Independent Film Festival (SohoLIFF) is turning five and marking the milestone with a r celebration of innovation in independent filmmaking. From January 23rd to 26th 2025, Soho’s iconic De Lane Lea/Warner Bros Building will transform into the ultimate hub for film enthusiasts, hosting over 50 films from around the world and a packed schedule of workshops, networking events, and creative opportunities.

SohoLIFF is more than just a film festival, it’s a vibrant, interactive platform designed to celebrate every aspect of independent filmmaking. Each day is filled with masterclasses led by industry veterans, panel discussions tackling topics like funding, storytelling, and diversity, and networking events that connect creators with collaborators and mentors. Attendees can also gain unique insights into the filmmaking process through behind-the-scenes Q&A sessions with directors, producers, and actors. The festival’s Student Filmmaker Showcase shines a spotlight on emerging talent, pairing them with established professionals to help launch their careers.

The fifth edition of SohoLIFF promises to be its most dynamic yet. Submissions have come from over 25 countries, offering a stunning diversity of voices and themes. From comedies to experimental works and dramas, the program features stories that challenge perspectives and address pressing issues like climate change, social justice, and identity. Alongside emerging filmmakers, the festival welcomes celebrated talents including Mark Rylance, Riz Ahmed, Toyah Willcox, and Phil Davies, creating an inspiring blend of fresh voices and seasoned professionals.

Awards and Recognition
Esteemed judges such as BAFTA-winning actor Jane Perry, director Neil Marshall, and cinematographer Steve Montgomery will evaluate the films, culminating in 16 award categories. The coveted Audience Choice Award allows attendees to vote for their favourite film, the winner receives prime exposure on Clear Channel’s digital screens across central London.
